2. What does the application process involve?

We are committed to delivering an exceptionally high quality of work to our clients. Our highly talented team are central to this and are the reason that our clients return to work with us. Our recruitment process is therefore designed to rigorously assess the key skills required to deliver our services. It also provides you with a true flavour of the role.

For all roles, the first step is to submit a CV and cover letter via the online application forms linked to each vacancy. Your application will be assessed by a member of the recruitment team.

The next stage of the recruitment process is dependent on which role you have applied for.

3. I can’t decide between the Analyst/Medical Writer/Scientific Intern roles; which one should I apply for?

Both our Analyst/Medical Writer and Scientific Intern roles are entry-level and suitable for recent graduates or those joining from other industries. No prior medical communications experience is needed for either role. We would typically recommend that you consider an internship programme if you are looking to gain experience in medical communications but are unsure if it is a field you wish to commit to in the longer term. If you are confident that a career in medical communications is for you, and would be looking for a permanent opportunity, we would recommend that you apply for the Analyst/Medical Writer role.

4. When are the start dates for the roles?

For most of our scientific roles we have four pre-determined start dates each year in January, April, July and September. Please indicate your preferred start date on your application form.

5. When is the deadline for applications?

Unless indicated on the advert, there are no set application deadlines and we recruit on a rolling basis. However, we would encourage you to apply early because we receive a high number of applications for each position. We can offer deferred start dates.

6. Can I speak with a current member of the team?

If you wish to speak with a member of our recruitment team, please email recruitment@costellomedical.com.

7. Do you sponsor non-EEA nationals to work in the UK?

We regret that Costello Medical does not currently have a sponsorship licence and, as a result, we are unable to sponsor non-EEA nationals to work in the UK.

8. Can I choose which UK office I work in?

Most of our new recruits will be based in our Cambridge Global Headquarters which are located in the CB1 business district close to Cambridge train station and with ample bus links. Our Headquarters is home to over 90 colleagues, spanning all our divisions. We can offer advice for those relocating to the city including on finding accommodation. Please have a read of our Why Choose Cambridge? document if you would like to learn more about the city.

Occasionally, we have vacancies in our London and Manchester offices and so we can offer roles there from time-to-time. Please state your preference in your application form and we will aim to accommodate for this. If we, unfortunately, have no space in your desired location, it may be possible to delay your start date or offer you a role in a different location (most likely in our Cambridge HQ).

On a case-by-case basis, it is also sometimes possible to relocate between the Costello Medical UK offices and colleagues have done so frequently in the past couple of years.

Your application will be reviewed by several members of the team throughout the recruitment process, however, if you wish to address your cover letter to one individual, please choose Sophie Costello.

11. Who should I contact if I need reasonable adjustments in the selection process?

As an employer we are committed to promoting and protecting the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all our colleagues.
